IMPORTANT DETAILS

• Free to spectators, fun event for all ages!
• Event will be run rain or shine.
• Plan to pack out your own garbage and leave no trace on the property.
• All riders must register before the event to open ride or compete. 
• The race is USA Cycling sanctioned. Race competitors must have valid USAC annual or 1-day USAC license.  You can also apply your 1-day license fee towards an annual license within 12 months.  Open rider passes or beginner fun race classes do not require a USAC license.  USAC officials will be on hand to ensure a safe and fair event.  Results from the race will be posted to USAC website directly after the race. 
• Free overnight parking/ camping is permitted only for registered racers. No open fires are permitted.
• Race classes for all skill levels, ask us if you aren't sure what to sign up for.
• Open riding passes are available for Friday and Saturday, Sunday is for registered racers only.

Follow signs from Route 8/ Halyday Run Rd to Dwyer St then top of Evans St.

The event entrance is accessed through private property and is closed to the public before the event. To access the trails outside of events check out the Trails page on AlleghenyGnar.com 

EVENT SCHEDULE

Friday:

• 1pm - 7pm Open Riding
• Overnight parking permitted for registered racers only

Saturday:

• 9am - 5pm Race Practice/ Open Riding
• 5pm Seeding for Pro & Cat 1/2 Classes
• Overnight parking permitted for registered racers only

Race practice groups will be posted the week prior to the race.

Sunday:

• Racer Practice 8am-11:45am
• DH Finals Starts 12pm
• After race completes, free riding til 5pm for registered racers only

Practice Groups will be announced before race day, check back for group times.

• Cat 1/2 Age 0-16
• Cat 1/2 Age 17-29
• Cat 1/2 Age 30+

• Cat 3 Age 0-16

• Cat 2/3 Age 40+
• Hardtail Bike (no rear shocks allowed)
• eBike (pedal assist only, this is the only class eBikes can compete in)
• Beginner Men
• Beginner Women
• Open Rider Day Pass - Friday or Saturday only (non-competitive)

*Beginner class is a non-points class with an easier course.  Beginner class will practice and race on Sunday only and be half price.  Beginner riders that want to practice Saturday too can add an Open Rider pass for Saturday.

AWARDS

Top 3 - Pro Men’s & Women’s Race Payout Based on Number of Competitors in Class

• 2 Riders: 1st=$300
• 3 Riders: 1st=$450
• 4 Riders: 1st=$500 / 2nd=$100
• 5 Riders: 1st=$600 / 2nd=$150
• 6 Riders: 1st=$600 / 2nd=$300
• 7 Riders: 1st=$650 / 2nd=$350 / 3rd=$50
• 8 Riders: 1st=$750 / 2nd=$350 / 3rd=$100
• 9 Riders: 1st=$800 / 2nd=$350 / 3rd=$200
• 12 Riders: 1st=$1000 / 2nd=$500 / 3rd=$300

Top Amateur Race Prize (all Cat 1/2 Expert classes eligible)

• 1st = $250
• 2nd = $100
• 3rd = $50

All Amateur classes have awards and podium for top 3.

TIMING

Timing equipment from Zone4 is included in sign-up fee. Timing chips will be mounted in staging 6-9 minutes before start time and removed at finish line.

DH SEEDING

Only Pro & Cat 1/2 classes will have an optional seeding run to determine start list for Sunday.  Top seeding times will start last in their class with those who skip seeding dropping first.

SERIES OVERALL POINTS

• Top 3 overall series finishers in each class will receive awards for Allegheny Gnar Overall Championship.
• Top finisher with annual USAC license living in Pennsylvania will be recognized as USA Cycling Downhill PA State Champion.
• To be eligible for series awards must race 2/3 races and all races count towards overall points with the final round being worth double points.

Points will be awarded as follows for each race (final round is double points):

• 26 = 1st
• 23 = 2nd
• 21 = 3rd
• 19 = 4th
• 18 = 5th
• 17 = 6th
• 16 = 7th
• 15 = 8th
• 14 = 9th
• 13 = 10th
• 12 = 11th
• 11 = 12th
• 10 = 13th
• 9 = 14th
• 8 = 15th
• 7 = 16th
• 6 = 17th
• 5 = 18th
• 4 = 19th
• 3 = 20th
• 2 = 21st
• 1 = All finishers after 21st
